To wrap up the Cinquecento Project coverage of tonight’s events in Piazza San Pietro, I had to let you know that a group also released pink smoke in protest of women’s continued exclusion from the priesthood.

You’re back! I hadn’t heard about the pink smoke – I love it though!
Yea – it just occurred to me that under his rule, women are more likely to get progress than any other issue that I care about…of which the catholic church has a PR machine… I’m out of qualifiers. I don’t think it will happen in my lifetime, but it’d be a great step forward.
This was my favorite pope-related story!

Well, the smoke was for real. Not sure any real effect it will have on Papa Francesco – but here’s hoping!
