Well, I know Easter (Pasqua) isn’t until Sunday, but that’s what all the Italians are already saying, “Happy Easter” or “Buona Pasqua.”
Sicilians celebrate Good Thursday, Good Friday, (not sure what they call Saturday), Easter, and Post-Easter, respectively giovedi Santo, venerdì Santo, Pasqua and Pasquetta. Lots of family and community rituals accompany this Catholic holiday in Sicily.
Luckily, chocolate eggs wrapped in shiny aluminum foil is also a Sicilian tradition…yum!
Have a great weekend! Happy Easter to all my readers who celebrate Easter!
